Melk Abbey publishes an independent visitor guide at melkabbey.com. This notice describes the information used when you read a guide or send a correction.

Reading the guides

Images, fonts, search files and the annotated map are served from this site. The map does not load third-party tiles. The site does not require an account to read its guides.

The consent control can store your choice on this device. The local search index loads when you use search. It does not send the query to an external search provider.

Analytics and referral links

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics for anonymous page-view and performance data; it sets no cookies. Analytics load only after consent in the UK and European Economic Area and do not load when your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal.

Following an external link takes you to another provider with its own privacy and cookie terms. Our labelled affiliate links go through CJ (Commission Junction) to Trip.com. CJ and Trip.com may use attribution cookies and process request information on their own sites. See the affiliate disclosure. This site does not load affiliate widgets or maps merely because you view a guide.

Messages and hosting

The contact form asks for the message and reply details you enter. Messages are stored for up to 90 days and used only to reply. Its form guard keeps a short-lived sending-IP record to block spam. Cloudflare Workers hosts the site; standard request logs may include IP addresses for page delivery and security. Send only the information needed to handle your message.

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, sets cookies and measures pages viewed, outbound link clicks, and approximate location and device type. In the EU, EEA and UK it loads only after you choose Accept in the cookie banner. Elsewhere it loads without a banner, but in every region it stays off if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. To withdraw consent, use the Change cookie choice button in the Your choices section below.

Outbound click measurement

Our first-party /api/click beacon records which affiliate offer was clicked and from which page, independently of optional analytics consent. It uses no cookies or visitor identifier. Campaign labels may be retained in sessionStorage for the current tab and sent with later clicks.

Use the contact page for a correction or privacy question. Do not send booking references, payment details or sensitive information that the publication does not need.
